Historic London Pub Walks – A Great Way To Explore London
An historic London walk makes for a truly memorable and entertaining night out. By focussing on a particular area of London you can really explore some truly fascinating places. Alleyways become gateways of discovery through which you step and find yourself gazing upon parts of London that you would never dream still existed.
Places that have changed little, if at all, since the days when Dickens and Shakespeare knew them. Hidden courtyards and cobbled alleyways that are still lit by gas light. The ambience of these places is truly breathtaking and you really do start to get the feeling that you have been transported back in time
But there is a lot more to one of our historic London Pub Walks than just visiting these wonderful places. On our tours you will be in the company of a guide whose knowledge of and enthusiasm for each area will be truly inspiring. The commentary you will hear will bring the past vividly to life and you will learn so much about the fascinating history of London and her pubs.
The great thing about these walks is that you spend about twenty minutes getting to know an area and then you take a break in one of its intriguing inns or taverns. Here you can enjoy a drink, absorb the ambience, and discuss what you have heard so far with your guide or fellow walkers. Once you have finished your drink, your guide will take you into another section of the area before stopping off at another hostelry for a libation and more discussion
And thus the evening progresses until you have really explored and got to know the area, and have enjoyed the hospitality of three or so pubs. The walk goes at a gentle pace. You are never rushed to finish your drink hurriedly, and your guide is able and willing to answer any questions you might have.
So if you are looking for a night out with a difference, why not consider a night out in the past discovering a whole knew side to this wonderful and fascinating City. Cheers.
