Bawdy London Pub Walk
Join us for a comical walk into history as we set out for a night with a difference. A night like they used to be in the 17th century when pub hours were none existent and the flow of beer was unending. A riotous, boisterous evening of fascination, fun and outrageous frolics.
You’ll journey through historic old streets to learn unusual facts and hear amusing Old Fashioned man with tankard.anecdotes.
You’ll learn the origins of such well known saying as “Mind your P’s and Q’s” and “Bottoms Up.” You’ll hear the jokes that people used to laugh at; guffaw at the antics of William Shakespeare, man about town and everyone’s favourite drinking partner. You’ll positively crease at the capers of Ned Ward, celebrated author of the “London Spy”; and maybe you will blush slightly when you discover the shenanigans that once went on at Prissie Fotheringam’s lauded “Chuck Office.”
We’ll shimmy up the chimney of time and shin down the drainpipe of history as we weave our way through the backstreets and courtyards of one of London’s least changed quarters and seek out four pubs chosen for their atmosphere, history and fun. There’ll be heaps of gossip, lashings of scandal, gallons of humour, and a night that will furnish you with enough tales and anecdotes to dine out on for years to come…cheers!
